Has "reboot" changed meaning? I've heard references recently to the tv "reboots" of Dallas, Knight Rider, Full House, etc. I thought those were just renewals or reunions or re-somethingelse.

Didn't "reboot" always mean starting over, with a new origin story? Like the Nolan Batmans? EddieC is not the only one (or even close) to have recently used reboot differently than I understand (understood) the word to mean.

S4 of Arrested is pretty amazing for how the story itself is structured (don't have a better way to describe it), but really wasn't the same show, or wasn't funny in the same way IMO.

Arrested Development's Netflix season is not the same as Dallas, Fuller House, etc imo. I think reboot is fine to use for the latter because, while the original story is continued, the cast is mostly refreshed for a modern audience.

Not sure what you think makes it horrible - it is very confusing. And the story itself is just so-so. But I find it hard to believe anybody could watch it and not be impressed with the various interlocking storylines and how it was all played out over many episodes - that you would watch episode 8 and get the punchline to what you saw in episode 3. Just thought it was impressive.

Sort of like the Seinfeld "backwards" episode - whether you liked the story or not, it's impressive that they found a way to tell a story backwards and have it hold together at all.

I was thoroughly bored with the story by the third episode. The writing was subpar. Not having more than 2 characters on the screen at the same time was annoying. It had none of the charm of seasons 1-3. The first 3 seasons had setups with punchlines in a later episode and it worked. Not so much with season 4. It just felt like a shell of a show I loved.
