Default Actuary Sues Academy for False Expulsion

Hello.

I became an ASA in 1988 and a member in the Academy in 1989. Then, after being elsewise involved for a number of years, I was attempting to return, when, in 2012 -- completely unaware of how Academy leadership had turned – they hired Steve Salky to pick a fight with me. Trying to pass my last exam for FSA, I continued suggesting that we let bygones be bygone. However, apparently feeling the need to show that their lies can overcome any truth, they responded to my attempt to register for the 2015 Annual Meeting and Public Policy forum with their ludicrously false expulsion notice of me.

While having better sense than to desist from it, my offer remained to them that, until getting my complaint filed, we drop this. But, paying your dues to Salky to engineer his way through any tribunal or law enforcement, they would not hear. Having at last what I thought might withstand it, I filed -- in response to which, they gave your dues to Salky’s new partner, Catherine Duval (look up Lois Lerner’s or Hillary Clinton’s emails), who lied in every possible way, primarily to confuse the judge what the case is about until, apparently befuddled, he dismissed it.

But statutes of limitations are not up, and, as they know, the stakes raise with each round. There is a path to righteousness, one must believe, and, I know, no matter what they do, they cannot take my name from me.

(This posting, of course, can remain only by the good graces of D.W. Simpson, to whom I would gladly answer any question asked.)

Mr Rubenstein, are you also suing the SOA for expelling you for the same code violation?

If not, why only the Academy?

Why would the Academy want to "pick a fight" with one of its dues-paying members?

Please describe these "bygones" of which you speak.

Thank you.

Steve, you should really think carefully before you post like this. You come across like a mad-eyed conspiracy theorist, and you won't generate sympathy so much as pity or concern for your emotional state. You also potentially libeled a lawyer.

His lawsuit being against "The Academy Cowards" won't help that perception much.

I try not to be judgmental about pro se litigants (I myself am one and I am proud of it), but it is going to be very difficult to give OP any guidance when (1) just the list of defendants contains two or more glaring mistakes, and (2) he doesn't even answer Marcie's questions.

If he files an appeal in the Sixth Circuit, he will need to be much more proficient and careful in his briefing than how I presume he "has been" in the lower court.
