A steak is a steak. It just needs a ~8 minutes of heat. Anyone can make a steak as good as any restaurant if you buy quality meat. There is nothing special they're doing to make a quality NY strip taste any better. Salt, pepper, heat

i like food.

also don't get the appeal of fancy steak houses though. overpriced waste of money unless your employer is paying for it.

Definitely true to an extent. However restaurants can cook it with more heat than my grill which barely cracks 400. Plus they can season it classier than my salt and pepper at home. I've eaten 80 dollar steaks in restaurants that weren't as good as the ones I buy from my supermarket, but I've had a few that were significantly better and that I didn't regret spending the cash.
