I wouldn't bet that. He's had 23 career appearances, and is coming off a major injury. One that could definitely screw with his mechanics and delivery.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 2009 Gallardo > 2009 Sheets, but I can't say I'd expect it.

Yeah, it's not a sure thing, of course, and I'm not betting on it, but I'll take 2009 Gallardo at his salary vs. 2009 Sheets at his.

"Tom House, an expert on pitching mechanics, told Baseball America that Mark is the poster child of sports science. He brings together the 4 foundations (biomechanics, genetics, nutritive and mental aspects)...He is probably one of the best athletes ever in terms of having all those- if not THE best."

Look up his 2003 stats and tell me that wasn't one of the greatest pitching performances of all time. I'm not sure, but of the top of my head, I think he had a 178 ERA+.

Plus, he's averaging the fewest pitches/inning out of all NL starters, or something like that. And we're giving him extra days rest.

If we wanted to kill him, we very easily could.

Umm... how can you do more to try to kill him than throwing a complete game every outing? A 4 man rotation?

I dunno, the last one was the only unreasonable complete game, and the only one that he showed slight signs of tiring in (around pitch 120). If this is made to be the exception, I think we're okay.

crap, the game isn't on wgn or csn today. I think it is on one of the satelite "sport alt" channels that sometimes come in, but I got a bad feeling I am going to have to go without tonight. Oh well, gives me a chance to catch up with my good friends Ron and Pat and possibly corey.

Yea you gotta love the WCIU games. WGN is playing Corner Gas and Comcast is playing 2007 College Football Games all night. 'Tis a shame.

I feel bad for you guys. It would suck having to listen to that radio broadcast with the respected announcer and the perpetually moaning ex-player. At least one of them will make sense most of the time.

Man, lilly was a tough luck loser, and what's the deal with arroyo - he actually threw well. Oh well, no big deal. Oh and I like listening to Ron and pat alot. Ron is hilarious. One of my favorites was the overthrow by weeks.

Ron, "Ohno ohnn ohno ohno OH YES!!!"
