I used WIX for mine. I found it very easy to build/edit the website and I am happy with the result (see link in signature). You may want to look into WIX (or Squarespace) before hiring someone.

Yep, working on the bio. I looked at WIX and decided Godaddy just because they had other services that I needed (Office 365, backup files for example) for very reasonable prices

I've been doing self-employed, sole proprietorship consulting for 30 years or so, more since retiring in 2012, and I just call myself "Consulting Actuary." Seems to work just fine.

I know. Godaddy is releasing a new version that I am able to pick fonts. I cannot even change the font size on some pages.

But also keep in mind any lawyer will charge you dearly for regurgitation of legalese, some of which might be illegal. If you hire an attorney, make sure you understand everything (regardless of lawyer's babbling over the phone) and that it is compliant with the law. Many, many lawyers are incompetent.

My former employer supposedly had an attorney draft the contract I signed. Five years later I happened to become a bit knowledgeable about laws and I realized the contract violated state law. I could have proceeded against him for that issue, but I didn't. Two years later I ended up taking him to court for much worse matters.

Depending on your location, consider visiting the court to query some cases (select "case type: Contracts" or something similar), as the court records might have the contract attached in the form of exhibit. That way you become acquainted with the terms/terminology of contracts and save money.

Totally agree. Generally speaking, in contract law courts apply the principle of contra proferentem. This means that an ambiguous clause will be interpreted in the way that favors the party who did not draft the contract.

Good luck with your initiative. The professional world should go that direction.
