This sounds very promising. $20 is super cheap and if I have to pay for online anyway, it'll be nice to at least get SMB3 et al with it.

I hope they follow through with the adding SNES games too though. They seem on-the-face about that.

I also hope they implement N64-Wii support, even if it is just through the traditional route of paying per game in the eshop.

On the subject of virtual console support, 8bitdo, makers of very good, third party Nintendo clone controllers recently patched in support for the Switch.

I'm strongly considering picking up the SFC30 (Super FamiCom clone) controller when the get the ball rolling on VC.

I just hope Nintendo doesn't patch out compatibility for third party controllers by then.

I could see it going either way. On the one hand, I read that when competitive games are available on PC, PC tends to get the attention (the article I read pointed out Overwatch, but failed to acknowledge COD). I've also stopped paying for PS+, and I think a lot people that just want to play big name games and aren't interested in cheap Indies think it's stupid pay twice to play online, so that should help the PC base. And graphics.

On the other hand, if there's more than a 2 week delay, the hardcore destiny fans will have pumped in 40-50 hours, or more, into the game and won't want to start over. If it's any longer than that, I would expect everything to land on the consoles first. I'd love to see cross-platform for PvE, or even a way to transfer progress between platforms, but I haven't heard anything about that yet, so I'm not holding my breath.

They've explicitly said you will not be able to transfer progress from console to PC or from console to console. Honestly, if you could go from console to PC, I think there are a lot of people they could sell two copies of the game to.

I played through Inside this weekend. I thought it was ok. Trying to figure out what to tackle next.

I also started DMC1 HD, and games (including this franchise) have gotten a lot easier in the last 16 years. I'm a few chapters in and finally starting to regain some of my flow, but Normal is way harder than I remember (and I finished Must Die Mode on PS2). I remember cruising through the DMC reboot and finishing Hell or Heaven mode without too much pain.

No XBox One X or MS press event talk in here?

+ Abbreviates to XBOX
+ Xbox OG BC (guessing it'll be limited; not clear if you can pop in OG disks)
+ Anthem looked amazing; kinda looks like Bioware's Destiny
+ AC Origins looked cool too (I've played them all, so why not)
- $499 (while there's value to the price compared to building a gaming PC, PS3 and XBONE proved this is too high for general consumer)
- XBox One X sounds too much like XBox One S (trivial )
- Aside from Cuphead, XBox exclusives just didn't move the needle for me, personally

Just read on twitter that you will be able to pop in OG XBox disks. That's pretty cool. Although...how many people have those disks lying around?

I wonder if my old MechAssault disc will be as useful as before.
