Default Anyone?

I am a Umich Act Sci alumni, would like to meet some new friends here who are also from UMich. And yes, I have taken the contingency class taught by our well-known Professor Huntington. =)

I took the contingencies from lesser known, but not necessarily a lesser professor, Professor Moore.

Class of 95 here. Took Contingencies, Risk Analysis (523) and Interest Theory with Professor Huntington. Almost 12 years later, I find that I still talk about him occasionally.

Huntington is just a very unique professor in my honest opinion. =)
I also had Moore for actuarial classes, she is a very nice lady.
haha I have heard that Huntington still travels around the world all the time and teach less class now.....

hi, greetings from Ann Arbor. I'm a junior, and currently in life con II with Prof. Young. Couldn't agree more with all of you about Prof Huntington and Prof. Moore (I took 424 - Interest Theory with her). Prof Young is great too.

To put it in a nutshell:
Prof Young - great teacher
Prof Moore - great researcher
Prof Huntington - great mentor

Also, Prof. Huntington is only teaching Math 422 now, and is involved with much more management stuff for the Math Dept. He still travels a lot.

Corrections:
Prof. Young - great researcher
Prof. Moore - great teacher

I thought Ginny Young was the researcher and Moore the teacher. I like how professor Young writes from right to left since she doesn't cover up her writing as she goes thought it takes a bit to get used to.

Man, if you don't have contingincies with Huntington, do you hear the story about how he sent a letter telling his mother she had died on NE Life's tables?

I know his mom passed recently, but he liked telling that story when going over limiting ages.

PhD in Industrial and Operations Engineering, 1995.

Professor Robert Smith was my advisor.

I played bridge with several people from the math graduate department, although I've heard that U of Mich no longer even has a bridge club...
