I can't tell you much of what is important. But after a while I know that some of the sample questions are more difficult than others. Personally I would concentrate on the ones that have proven more difficult to me:

8 32 39 43 48 50 53 59 62 64 72 76 86 92 93 96 99 101 102 108 109 114 115 116 133 146 154 162 164 180 181 204 205 210 225 229 236 244 280 309 319

On top of it, I found some of the older exams had some difficult questions like SOA C-S07 , SOA 4-F00, SOA 4-S00, (about 6 or 7 in each exam, not all of the questions still apply to the new syllabus, but you will know which ones belong to that category.)

I would make sure I understand well how to solve them.

Mahler has a free Exam that is good, see if you can get a hold of it, as it has some of the new STAM problems. I would rate that exam in the difficult zone.

Passed exam STAM yesterday. Hardest part is probably when the SOA words / formats questions differently than how TIA does it in their practice problems / exams.

Unfortunately, my company doesn't give the raise / bonus until transcripts are released. Oh well. Moving on to PA in December, my last major requirement for ASA.

Congrats! Was there anything on there that surprised you or you felt was weighted pretty heavily?

I marked the following sample questions:

25 28 35 48 58 59 62 64 67 78 93 102 112 115 126 146 154 156 159 164 167 168 178 180 184 197 204 205 210 257 262 272 283 316 321 323 325 326 327 328

Per the syllabus, parametric models and credibility will make up 40-55% of the exam, so I'd say to focus on that.

Good luck everyone

I think the weighting was pretty much like I would have expected based on the syllabus and how often topics came up during practice.

Congrats! Did you take any ASM practice exam? If so, which one do you think is more close to the real exam regarding to the difficulty? How do you think about the sample questions? Are they close to the real exam, or easier/more difficult? I will take the exam in 3 days. I feel really nervous now.

Passed! I had an EL of 6.1. Felt the exam was between EL 4 and 5. Best of luck to all!

I used TIA for everything. I think their practice exams were comparable, besides the wording / formatting being a little different sometimes.

Passed! My CA EL was 4.88 Deff feel like the exam was 5.5-6. Had no clue on 10 questions, guessed on 3. The others felt unbelievably easy. Still in shock that i passed but humbled and grateful.
