So what avatar is that (or he), Klayman? Thanks for agreeing with me on the lead.

This character is Maurice Moss from a hilarious 4-season run of a UK show called the IT crowd. Easy to find clips and episodes on Youtube.

In my avatar he goes to a theater and desperately needs to use the bathroom. When he uses a staff toilet, one thing leads to another and suddenly he is serving drinks (unsuccessfully) to his friends.

I submitted those answers. While we’re waiting for results, give me your thoughts on the District 4 problem in this thread http://www.actuarialoutpost.com/actu...d.php?t=328467

Possibly worse than your average, but 710 did make the honor roll, in a 21-way tie for the lowest score to do so. Congratulations to oirg, whose 750 would have been a tie for 4th.

.
Spoiler:

A) 2S. Need to show strength and you are self sufficient should partner pass.
B) 5D. 3NT smells rotten to me, given partner's limp spade bid and the (obvious) lead going through him. It's unclear whether we even have a spade stop, and if we have two if there aren't 9 top tricks. OTOH partner is short clubs and the short trump suit presumably. Should make.
C) 2S. At imps vul partner owes you another bid except with absolutely nothing imo, if that's the case your hand has 5-7 losers in spades depending on the ace placement.
D) 3H. Give partner room to show a 4-card spade suit.
E) Pass. Best case is the swing from -110 to +110. Coming in at -50 or -100 is also likely... why risk sticking your neck out?
F) 2C. Perfect bid, good suit and top of a passed hand.
G) S4. Partner has 5 or 6 spades behind declarer but didn't want to lead them. Declarer bid spades once and threw down 3NT - you and dummy have the diamonds, declarer has got to have clubs. You have an entry and a second spade to send through. The 4 should suggest a diamond lead but your having the CA is likely to P too.
H) S10 (might rethink later)
