When I was at West Point, you got into a lot of trouble and got time walking the square if you were caught sleeping. This included "resting your eyes".

But there was no problem with praying with your eyes closed.

True story.

It's better than praying on an airplane.

Do you need to ask "Can I pray ...?" I thought "righteousness" already took care of those questions.

I have a Muslim friend who is very well educated, very smart and social. I met him in the US through another friend.

The first time I met him, we were having wine and some conversation. All of a sudden he got up and went into a more private corner, and he prayed over there. Then he came over and joined the conversation again.

I would think if he were an actuary, he would need a private place for this kind of thing. I would bet he would prefer to do this on the set times.

As for why he was drinking wine, don't ask me. Complicated person.
