![]() I got a master in maths with decent grades (GPA > 3.7 in overall) and I am now aged 28. May I know if it is too late to enter the field of actuarial field?
In addition, I have visited the website of statistical department at U of Waterloo and it seems that the master of actuarial science programme can grant the exemption of IOA paper (CT1-CT8 and CA1 and CA3). Given that I have completed he remaining IOA paper (CT9 and CA2), is that I do not need to take the actuary exam of SOA in order to become an ASA? What's more, how is the placement record of master of actuarial science programme for Asian student? It seems that it is quite hard for an Asian to seek a job in North America. I look forward to any kindly reply. Thx a lot. |

![]() I think transitional arrangements are not recognised by SOA. I mean that unless it has an exemption agreement with Waterloo, I doubt that it will grant you an ASA through your having been exempted from taking the UK papers. I am not sure about this though.
