As the thread title suggests, I don't think that Errol really needed to go there.

These comparisons are always impossible.

I have FSA (1977) and PhD (2000). Each tortured me in its own way.

I prefaced my comparison with the disclaimer that I didn't know much about PhD's in nonmedical fields, and then proceeded to compare getting your FSA to a Masters program, which I know more about than PhD's. Clearly an FSA would fall somewhere in the middle of a PhD and Masters.

Given these comparisons are junk anyways, I wouldn't waste my time playing quality control in this thread...?

I think a better comparison would be like

getting your FSA = child birth

It's not so much quality control as telling people not to show themselves to be fools.

One thing I should make clear though.

I'm talking about an MSc from a top 3 University in the UK (Cass, Kent, and Heriot-Watt)

The MSc's from Unis in the US (Columbia) and Canada (Waterloo) are pure crap by comparison.
