Ah, crap, if there were a stronger one, we would have had our asses smacked down. :snort:

So, what you're saying is that neither one of these would be strong enough to open the portal? Should we be on the lookout for another coming of enemies?

Guts doubt his senses are sharper than the dragon but he will be on active perception duty.

Maybe we can track where this group came from. A "master" beholder doesn't sound good for us but maybe Flame can take one on while we deal with the minions...

"These two, with enough time, would have been able to open the portal. However, they would not have been able to coordinate the wyvern's along with the giants and themselves. It is possible they would have been sent from someone else as a possible feeler to see if it was possible or maybe an advanced scouting party. I do not sense the aura that I would expect with their boss so I think we are clear to head back to my lair. The portal is safe for now and the next assault on it might be hundreds of years in coming."

Ok Flame, if you think so. Seems they would want to try again, and the fact that they still haven't sent someone strong enough to coordinate anything seems a lot like Voldermort sending his Death Eaters out to watch what's going on.

Is there any loot around AS? Or jewels, or fun things? I'm going to scavenge around the room a bit. Perhaps there's a neat eye we can take and stick to a door?

Someone has spent too much post-exam time reading Harry Potter.

Let me have a day or so to get together a list of fun things you might find around the room.

Yes, I decided to read the entire last book in 3 days. Figured it would be fun. Sorry, a little too much Potter on the brain.

Even had a kid show up last night as Harry. I was asking him all sorts of Hogwarts questions.

3 days? I am not kidding when I say my wife bought the book at 9am and read strait through until about 2am. Done and done.

I was working and taking and exam for two of those.

But yeah, the night I got the book (and the bookmark was still in there), I had my son with me. I was the third person in town to get the book, and read the first chapter in the parking lot. Drove my son home, and proceeded to read the rest straight through. Was done about 2-3 PM in the afternoon if I remember correctly.
