Default It's January 3 and the Rams are in the playoffs

No, it wasn't a bad dream, poor widdle haters. The Rams that you hate are yet another success story here in 2004. LMAO.

Really, I'm glad one of us can call 8-8 a "success". I'm further glad it's not me.

Same old double standards. Fans who are sick of the Rams are determined to make the Rams out to be failures. Somehow I doubt that the Panthers would be as downplayed if they had made it in.

The Panthers would have made it in after winning 7/8.

So help me out here. Is it going 8-8? Or do we need to be on a hot streak? Winning games in September doesn't count? Please help me understand the criteria that will best suit haters so the Rams can scurry along to try to satisfy them - and maybe actually earn some praise. I'm sure there must be a way we can make that happen. Yep.

New board, same old double standards. Sorry boys, the Rams are back in the playoffs.

I'm not knocking your Rams. I am saying that there is an objective criterion which would have made Carolina's 8-8 more of an accomplishment than St. Louis' 8-8.

It's not objective. I'll allow that you might think it is, but it isn't. You've probably been watching too much ESPN. Poor guys have gone all-in cheerleading for Carolina and now they have to talk about the go#$amn Rams AGAIN.

I consider the Saints and Viqueens no more "successful" than the Rams, and no less. Nor do I consider them failures. Mediocre is the appropriate term. If you hold 8-8 as the standard for success, you will miss the playoffs probably more than 90% of the time. If that makes you happy, good for you.

Whatever it is, I think it's pretty clear that the Panthers getting in at 8-8 would have been regarded by fans everywhere as this great comeback success story; while the Rams getting in at 8-8 is basically an "eh, whatever" story. And that's at best; for some guys it's a delicious opportunity to relish another Rams postseason defeat, as though that is something worse for the Rams than not making it at all. I would suggest to those fans stopping to think why that is, but if in your mind all 8-8 teams are made equal, then you probably understand what I'm saying.

Heck, I even give the Rams the edge this week. Even Martz can out-coach Holmgren.

And before you label me a Martz hater, I think he's much like Dungy. Really good coordinator, really average head coach.
