I agree. I don't even bother to watch NBA because of this (and that I don't care much for any of the teams nor the players). At least with soccer, the clock keep going.

It's only a good change for the league if there is consistent enforcement of it.

Also, it's important to recognize the difference between someone intentionally trying to show up an official vs someone simply reacting the way anyone would to a call they disagree with while in the midst of an intense competition. When frustation/venting is not directed at any official and has no chance in resulting in any harm to anyone else (eg throwing or kicking a ball into the stands), that should not be an infraction.

Let's see if they'll throw out Wade or Lebron for a similar display of anger.

Every year, there is something new that the officials are supposed to crack down on. Palming, traveling, certain types of contact. It usually lasts a few weeks at most. I do think the reactions to calls have gotten out of hand, to the point that you almost have to overreact just to keep up with everyone else.

The rule seems similar to international rules involving overacting, eh?

way to listen to coach Karl last night.

From Elias:
In Denver's 112-109 loss to Minnesota, Carmelo Anthony took four shots within the last 15 seconds of the game and missed them all. Three of them were 3-point attempts that would have tied the game. Over the last two seasons, only one other NBA player had four field-goal attempts within the final 15 seconds of the fourth quarter. On March 7, 2006, Minnesota's Marcus Banks was 3-for-4 from the field with less than 15 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Timberwolves lost to Houston 93-87.

Anthony makes $3 million donation to Syracuse

Carmelo Anthony looked like a freshman back on campus.

Sitting next to his former coach, Jim Boeheim, and sporting a Syracuse University baseball cap turned backward and an orange T-shirt on Tuesday, the Denver Nuggets star committed $3 million to his old school for a new basketball practice facility.

The gymnasium will be named after Anthony, who led the Orangemen to the 2003 national title before bolting to the NBA after his one season in college.

"It's what I wanted to do," Anthony said. "The whole city took me in like I was a Syracuse native."

that is true, but according to you, he's a top 5 player in the league. it still amazes me how he has no all-star appearances.
