Default VM-20 Reserves Supplement

Anyone currently filling this out?

I'm under the impression that since VM-20 is only effective 1/1/2017, there can't be any business under prior year. Is that about right?

My company filled it out but only Part 2 (3 year transition period). We left the prior year section blank.

I would leave prior year blank this year. The instructions do say, "This Supplement is intended to aid regulators in the analysis of reserve as determined under Section VM-20 of the Valuation Manual for both the prior and current year."

That, and the subtitle to the supplement is "Life Insurance Reserves Valued According to VM-20."

Thanks all. That question was at the end of a really late night.
