I have a PS Vita, PS4, but no PS plus membership.

There's this fighting game I bought on PS4, which can also be downloaded and played on PS Vita. I figured I can use the on-line feature for this game on PS Vita, but can't do this on my PS4 since PS plus membership is required there. It's kinda weird, not sure if this applies to this one game only, or it's true in general

I still have my Vita and use it regularly. But my understanding is that all online play on any device is locked behind a PS+ subscription. I could be wrong, or there could be exceptions, but I don't think playing it on Vita will bypass that requirement. However, I don't play a lot of online, so I'm definitely not the expert here.

Not sure about the Vita, but you need PS+ to play online on the PS4. You can play online on the PS3 for free, but dedicated servers for most games are closed, and the games with peer to peer matchmaking are fairly empty (though you can usually still find matches in some of the more popular games like Call of Duty).

I was reluctant to pay for online access out of principle, but PS+ is a great deal for what you get. Itís only $60/year normally, and they frequently run sales to push that price down to $40/year. You get 2 new games every month for that cost, so itís effectively 24 games for the price of a single game. I hate the idea of paying a subscription fee to play PS4 games online when they were free on the PS3, but all things considered, the cost is pretty reasonable. $40 to buy a yearís worth of PS+ goes much further than $40 would for even a single night out.

Yes this is what I'm thinking too, but I can play this game online without PS+ subscription. It's weird in a good way lol

PS+ is great, the only issue is I'm a (physical) game collector...I might still get it one day for the on-line features though

I have had PS+ for 3-4 years now, and for me it's 100% about the free games. Was disappointed when they discontinued Vita games earlier this year.

Dug my Vita out of a box recently to play p4golden. In an ideal world they’d port that to the switch but I won’t keep my hopes up.

P4 was one of my favorites but I never got to play Golden because it's PSP only. I heard it was better so I'd love to play it but not enough to buy a vita. I'd love if they ported it but that doesn't seem like something the studio does.

P4G got me into the Persona series, bought PS4 to play P5, and went back to my old PS2 and play P3FES last year LOL. So what's next? probably P5R next year lol

Been hitting up Apex legends since I convinced some friends to play it, got 2 wins in one day... from what I've seen it's really important to have at least one person with a long range weapon. I'm still getting used to transitioning to KB+M from console controllers but my aiming has improved, still can't be consistent with the handcannon though.
