I think you're referring to the broad categories where the notation can be found in a CA formula sheet or something similar, correct? Yes, that notation is found with markov models, but more specifically it is found with models where there are more than 2 states. A markov process is just when the random variable of interest's probabilities of being in a future state are dependent on its current state (the lifetime random variable follows a markov process). A markov model is a model to which the process pertains to. So, technically a single decrement model is also a markov model. The insurance notation "A" can be applied to any of the various multiple state models covered in MLC (or even not covered). There isn't a section of multiple lives subject to multiple decrements, but in theory it could be asked, and the notation would still apply.

The categories in most formula sheets do a great job of grouping similar topics roughly to make it easier to digest, but there is still a lot of overlap.

Read thru the WA and pick two that I can knock off rapidly and move on to MC. Also, scan thru the MC and identify what to skip for my first pass and then come back to those I did not touched if time allows.

Doing the WA section of spring 2015, and these problems are ALL my weak point...yikes! I have not encountered this on the other practice exams (WA or MC sections). Hopefully, the 24th isn't like this.

Agree. I feel like this one will either be a gimme or an absolute beast.

Seriously. Those insane amount of small calculations in the Spring 2017 one fried my brain......there would've been no way I passed that exam if I took it in the actual sitting.

EDIT: Maybe I would've. I think I'm overreacting and overthinking this whole stuff man. I'm so burnt out.

Just peeked at the fall 2017 thread and when they were a week out, they had about 50 pages in their thread. We're at 20. Really low attendance this sitting I guess

I take it back, it was just the first 3, the rest was not so bad. The 4th one was almost too easy.

I feel like I deserve a 'gimme' after sitting for those two, but I don't feel confident that we'll get one.
