Default ****ing outlook

So, we have a company imposed mailbox limit, it's stupid, I can't get around it.

If I switch to conversation view, there's a conversation clean up option to delete duplicate text in a chain, could be a really big space saver.

When I switch to conversation view, it at first automatically groups messages in my Inbox by date, I hate this, wasted space, and a nuisance, i can sort by date, and I know the dates, I don't want the damn thing grouped (particularly the group headings).

So, I go to view settings, turn off the group by. It does what I want.

I go to a different folder, and then come back to my Inbox, and lo and behold the ****ing thing is grouped again, it refuses to retain the property of not being grouped by date.

Outlook 2015.

What the ****, anyone have any ideas? Google has sucked at finding a solution.

it's holding for me. maybe a corrupted view. can try closing outlook then windows key + r and typing: outlook.exe /cleanviews

it'll remove all your customization to your views, so make sure you're ok with that before you run it.

Does toggling grouping on/off retain in other folders?

Tried to use the "conversation clean up" tool.

It deleted messages it should not have. Lost responses on chains from management that I need to cover my ass.

So, I go to the deleted messages, and make the enourmous mistake of going to recover deleted items from server.

This restores every message I've ever deleted ever.

I still need to get the important ones back, so now I need to just put them in a new folder (once an item is deleted, the folder that it was in is gone, what the ****?) so that they are "undeleted". But mixed in with that, is, every item I've ever deleted.

If they're all kept on the ****ing server, why cap my mailbox size? Why **** with me like this?

**** IT, **** our policies, and **** outlook.
