Default 2017 MBP

so i got a new macbook pro, not touchbar, at lunch today. best buy has a sale for $200 off list on the 13" 256 Gb SSD, so $1,299 instead of $1,499. playing around with it now. seems nice. not exactly an impulse buy, but def in the "do not need/want to have" category.

i considered the pixelbook, but 1) it's a 2-in-1 which usually means some sort of compromise on both the laptop and tablet aspects and 2) the soft white palm rests show dirt too readily. the demo model looked a little nasty with people grime on the pads

my 2012 MBA still runs great. don't know how/if i will sell it. shell is kinda banged up and dented from drops to concrete slab, but functions flawlessly. battery life is starting to show its age.

As per usual, Swappa.

I absolutely loathe it! I was in the market for a 2017 MBP, but chose to not upgrade from my 2011 MBA because of it. If Apple doesn't switch back to old style keyboard, I might bounce back to a Windows laptop.

it takes a little getting used to. i have a 2 week return window with best buy if needed. it's a non issue so far

battery runs down a little faster than i expected, but it's still very good

has anyone used mac burn in testing software? i sometimes run a burn in test for any new windows machines i buy or build
