Default Ubuntu kills off Unity?

I didn't realize this was in the works, that Ubuntu is going back to GNOME desktop.

I've strayed away for fiddling around with Linux in the last year or longer, and I never like Unity, may it RIH.

It took them years too long to recognize that Unity was driving away far more users from Ubuntu than it was bringing in. What a colossal waste of time and money.

Unity, the most disunifying Ubuntu design decision ever. I love the irony of the name.

I didn't hate it. It was merely an annoyance that I became accustomed to.

I absolutely love Unity, though don't use Ubuntu and therefore don't have anything of value to add to this thread.
