I imagine this will rank high on the list of "least productive work days" in Canadian history...although I doubt it will top the productivity hit observed during the world curling championships.

Curious how people feel this will change their lives. Not at all for me. I realize it'll make a big difference for some. Past criminal charges for possession are being wiped off the books, for one thing.

I wouldn't expect the country to turn into a herd of pot-heads.

I do think that increased/legitimized access will encourage a slight increase in usage, and that in turn might have other consequences.

I would expect an uptick in tourism, but I don't know that it would be a very big uptick.

I would expect that there will be a bubble-bursting effect in the cannabis industry, as expectations may exceed reality.

I am curious to see what happens with opioid usage in Canada, and whether crossing the border into the US becomes more of a headache given the puritanical stance of some in the US federal government.

As in, it might drop because some opioid users might switch to marijuana?

There will also likely be a spike in demand for crunchy snack foods, even on the abominations that are ketchup chips and all-dressed chips.
