Our system lets us do it ourselves within windows. The windows file properties has a tab for previous version. So much easier than having to wait for IT to get around to the restoration.

You can probably write a VBA script so it doesn't lie to you anymore.

Even better, you could add this script to every Excel workbook you create and whenever another user runs into an error that message pops up.

Urgh. I have a piece of VBA code that I wrote that takes and imports a bunch of CSV files and puts them into a format that my workbook reads. This crashes excel if I do anything but have excel as the active program.

I'm wondering if it's a memory management issue that excel is having trouble resolving on it's own...

Luckily I always know to save before importing new data.
