Well, if the math isn't hard on this exam and other uppers, then what makes them hard then?

The English - being able to explain actuarial concepts, as well as stuff like legal, regulatory, and underwriting, is something that trips up many students. I had the worst time with Exam 7, which at the time covered accounting and regulation. A lot of it was pure memorization, and the syllabus was a major snoozefest.
