I am going to start studying for the Ocotber exam probably in the next week or so and am wondering what are some good tools to use. I just passed exam P this past week and only used actex to study. Though I passed I found that while their book, Probability and Statistics with Applications, was helpful that their practice exams did not fully prepare me for the actual exam. I think that the practice exams contained a lot of basic problems that in no way helped for the real thing, so I was wondering what tools may be more suitable to help me pass the fm exam as well as later ones.

ASM or TIA are probably what most people will recommend. For FM I went with TIA and then did the ASM PEs. I always find it helpful to get a wide range of PEs, so that I have a broad range of types of questions and less chance of getting confused by the wording of questions on the actual exam. Also I recommend checking out Adapt, it is a great resource. Good luck!

ASM and Coaching Actuaries all the way. The derivatives section in the ASM is amazing. It will definitely take you a long time to go through the whole ASM manual, though ('least it did for me), but it's extremely helpful.
