So... who would prefer to use study aids other than TIA? I don't use the videos, and can't justify $1,200 for a manual and some flashcards. I liked the RF problem set for 7, but looks like Steve's not doing a similar thing for exam 8. And the CF manual for 7 was pretty good too, but I see nothing on the CF website about exam 8 whatsoever. Other places (Fox Seminars, All10) seem to have been thrown off by the syllabus makeover that happened for the 2017 sitting, and never re-tracked their products.

Have to decide. Given my 99.9% chance at failing 9, may take a sitting off.

Need to distract myself from freaking out over Exam 7, so might as well shift focus back towards this exam..

Got a 5 last sitting, let's hope attempt #2 goes better!

Any idea when we'll find out if this is TBE or paper/pencil?

Be excellent to each other. And party on dudes!

Alcohol and calculus don't mix. Never drink and derive.

Mahler still has his manual right? That's a good alternative to TIA for much, much cheaper.

Default Best Manual(s)

Hey Guys, I was curious about people's opinions on the best manuals for exam 8? TIA has been the best for me for past upper level exams (5,6,7).

I would say that if TIA is working for you, then stick with that.

There's no single best manual for 8, get all of them if you can: TIA, Mahler, Cookbook. The later 2 are not nearly as expensive as TIA

TIA is by far the best of the 3 because Josh.

Cookbook is a very useful supplement.

Mahler I don't think is necessary if you have the above two, but if you plan on going hard, I'd recommend it. Mahler always gives points/perspectives not in the source/TIA IME.

When do we get a finalized October 2018 syllabus? I got a 4 last year and probably failed 7 so I'm guessing I need to start early to stop constantly failing these things...
