If that is the case, then take note of the exchange and inform them that future contact from them could be viewed as harassment and that you'll respond accordingly.

Standard line is "Well, it's somebody I'm working on placing, so I can't say". Of course, they would have been fine to say, right up until the point that they told you they were working on placing them, so it's transparently BS, but then that was true all along.

I delete all emails and reject all LinkedIn requests from this firm instantly without even reading the first sentence.

This is not Shady Jobrecruit, but I recently got an email from a recruiter that began like this:

Quote:
Good afternoon JMBNYC. So, you've been with [my company here] for a few years now and, during that time, you've been able to glean some good experience.
I've been at this company for less than three months. They went through the trouble of scraping my LinkedIn page for my current employer, but didn't bother to scrape my start date.

Got an e-mail from this firm recently saying they had a job they thought was a great fit for me and to send my resume... sent it over and then they responded saying was I looking to move to Texas and that she doesn't have any jobs in the northeast. Like wtf!?

I had to change my phone number because of their spamming calls. They always said there were qualified 6-figure jobs available in Eastern states for candidates with at least 2 years experience and at least 3 passed exams. I do not know if they really have the job available, since they repeat the 6-figure jobs with spamming calls and emails every year.

Oops. Now they will spam your resume to companies without you knowing.

Hi folks!

After that other thread, where Tom expressed a preference for non naming names of other recruiting firms, since they can't come on here to defend themselves, I replaced the name of the firm with "Shady Jobrecruit", which conveniently has the same initials as the firm we're talking about. No points to anyone, just went thru and edited.

Please continue this convention going forward, if you choose to name the firm. Use of the actual name of the firm will result in infractions.
Thanks!

You mean we can't rely on the net-nanny for the modification?
