Exams 6 October 20, 2020
Exam 7 October 5, 2020
Exam 8 October 21, 2020
Exam 9 October 6, 2020

Interesting, there's a two week gap between 7/9 & 6/8, wondering how many people are doubling up in the fall sitting

I didn't think of that. I'm not going to double up even though I want to

Very glad it's on a Monday. It's been a while since I've had one earlier in the work week. Helps save on PTO.

I emailed the CAS about this very thing. They responded within a day saying that they are definitely considering putting a gap between the two.

Now that they have put a two week gap, I'm definitely going to try for both.

I'm usually against people trying to double-up, but I think I would attempt a double-up too this fall if I could, given the extra time, and nice gap between exams.

Do you think the pass mark for exam 7/9 would be higher to reflect the extra time for exam prep?

I doubt it. I don't think the CAS's goal is to screw people over with ridiculous pass marks. Though fall exams tend to have lower pass rates than the spring, so who knows?

so we know that under ODP and column dependant dispersion parameters that the chain ladder provides the MVUE for fj, ultimate and reserve.

I'm wondering, is it possible that BF or CC provide the MVUE estimates for other models that we are not aware of?
