Default Chinese New Year Meeting 2008 / Pacific Rim Actuaries' Club of Toronto

Hi everyone,

Pacific Rim Actuaries' Club of Toronto (PRACT) is holding a Chinese New Year Meeting 2008 on February 21, 2008 at Metropolitan Hotel, Toronto, ON, Canada.

We are glad to invite Mr. Nick Dumbreck, FIA, President of the Institute of Actuaries and a consulting actuary with Watson Wyatt Worldwide in London, UK.

Nick will be speaking about "The Role of Actuaries as Financial Risk Managers", with particular reference to Asia where appropriate, he will also share with us his knowledge of "Solvency II" which will significantly change the European insurance solvency system. His presentation would be useful for actuaries in all practice areas.

To enjoy early bird, please have your registration form postmarked before February 14, 2008.

If you have time and you are in town, why not come and join us? Come to be enlightened by a renowned British actuary, and to network with other people. Last but not least, fantastic Chinese delicacy will be served.

More details can be found on the following:

If you have any inquiries, please e-mail me at peter.damian.au@gmail.com.

Thank you for your attention. I wish everyone good health and prosperity, and for many years to come.

Yours very truly,

Peter Au
PRACT Executive

Why is the Pacific Rim actuaries club holding their meeting in Ontario instead of the pacific rim?

Are actuaries from the the far east going to travel all the way to Canada for a meeting?

Cool

perhaps because it is Pacific Rim Actuaries' Club of TORONTO and the party should be in Canada, preferably close to Toronto so its members can attend without too much trouble?

chill out jack and happy Chinese new year to you.

Something could be very wrong with Jack who seemed just can't let go of anything even remotely related to China. I am worried.
