Plus I would expect that the Japan dip is from WWII general, and not dominated by those particular two giant bombs.

That dip is for birth year 1905 (age 10 in 1915). Not a large number of civilians dying specifically due to WWI. Not a large number of 10-yr-olds in the war. Or a bunch of 10-yr-old Swedes.

Lots of deaths from the Spanish flu in 1918, tho
