Default Starcraft is FREE!

Free Starcraft

Just because they're updating it and calling it 'Remastered', but I don't really care. I played way too much of this game, and will probably download it.

I couldn't get it to work, but still have fond memories of this game.

Anyone know if they fixed the hacking?

"The company says they’ve also used this opportunity to improve the game’s anti-cheat system, add “improved compatibility” with Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 and fix a few long-lasting bugs."

Downloaded it, fond memories flowing back in from my past. Played with a few old friends I haven't talked to in a while. Crazy how a simple game can reconnect people, ha.

Is it the expansion pack too? I never did finish the Zerg campaign on the expansion pack. I was much better at Protoss. Playing Zerg just too much snap, snap, snap decisioning because it was all about building wave after wave of weaker armies.

Yes, it includes Brood War.

I already owned the game, but the announcement encouraged me to redownload it. I'm surprised how much of the game came back as muscle memory. I spent waayy too much time playing this game in school.

I used to play the custom "zero clutter" 3v3, no rush maps until the map maxed out an absolute ton back in the day. There used to be a ranking and league around it, many hours playing that. I never got into the normal games quite as much, but did a bunch of custom game modes as well... Evolve, Cat and Mouse, Bunker Wars, etc, etc.

some of those custom maps were really fun. I played one of the hundreds (thousands?) of tower defense maps over and over. there was some other one that was sort of like an RPG that was entertaining, but only beatable if you had several people who knew what they were doing.

I love this game, both normal and UMS. Defense maps, Evolves, RPGs, impossible missions, Team Micro Arena, Bounds, LoTR/RoTK, and more...props to the custom map makers. I still find myself searching up Savior/Jaedong's old BW games every so often to appreciate their Zerg play.

Now that they're patching multiplayer, if anyone wants to play, hit me up!
