Default Customer survey

Yesterday I was at the emergency room. Today I keep getting interminable survey questions about my experience. Twice I hung up because they just kept on talking forever. Why do they DO this?

All I can say is that the survey was a darned unpleasant experience.

My guess is the hospital might have been trying to get to you before Press Ganey, so they could fix any issues before you received an official survey. The place I get my car serviced at does this.

Well, the hospital has called me three times. Every time, they used the same technology - the email from hell (efh) automated system. In particular, the third time, they identified an individual that I was supposed to rate. (Previously they had done the ER physician and the ER "experience"*) The name was not familiar to me, and if there had been a "representative" available, I would have asked "WHO?" and perhaps clarified the subject of the discussion. As it was, I probably inadvertently slandered whoever it was, because I selected answer 3 = no, for every question about whether the person explained what they were doing and addressed my questions, etc.

If anyone here has the ability to provide feedback on this whole idiotic process, please let them know that if they actually hope to get meaningful information, they need to be sure the victim (I mean former patient) actually heard and understood the question.

* by the way, it's obvious to me that if the person being surveyed finds anything pleasant about a stay in the ER, the data a INVALID.

Our local hospital just mails the survey. I guess the phone call is cheaper and may get a higher response rate? We usually trash them.

One good (pleasant?) thing about the local ER is they don't leave you in the waiting room long.

I have spent far too much time in the ER in the last couple years. So much that I actually considered getting accident insurance. But it wasn't worth it. Loss ratios too low.
