I'm a female... but I buy about 3 to 4 suits per year. Women's styles aren't as long-lasting as men's... and I wear suits usually 3 days a week. I go casual on Fridays, although there's often a sport-coat involved. I usually wear a sweater or a dress once a week to mix things up.
ETA: I am director level though, so that plays into it. I wore many fewer suits as an individual contributor, and started ramping up as I moved into leadership roles.
