I posted Friday what worked for me. You can check out my comment history and probably find it or go back several pages.

I scored a 2 the first time and a 9 the second time.

But yeah that's what happened the first time. Happens to more people than you'd think on this god-awful exam! Glad to finally be over with it. FYI, for those who didn't pass, don't listen to the people who say ADAPT isn't helpful for this exam. I wish I had done more ADAPT for my second attempt and maybe i would've been pushed over into the passing range.

1a) After you finish the SOA 322, go back through it again.

2) Bought Coaching Actuaries and started taking practice tests
--Identified weak spots
--Took practice quizzes on weak spots
--Eventually, I got to a point (test #8 maybe) where I was dominating the EL 4 tests and decided I needed to spend time elsewhere...aka point #3)

3) Most important. Work EVERY single released test since inception.
-- When you take these tests it's okay to split the parts up into MC and then take the WA later (but u have to take the WA in a timed scenario)
-- After each test make a list of all the problems you struggled on

4) Go back and understand each problem you struggled on every test. Specifically the WA portion.

You will most likely fail if you do not go through the historical tests released (specifically >=2016) and study all your mistakes.

This test is a beast and IMO definitely the hardest of the prelims (barring the new Predictive Modeling test).
You probably already know where your knowledge gaps are, but see what the details show you for your WA results on Friday. Then make sure you focus on your problem areas. Try to find other problem sets: Adapt, ASM, TIA.

I feel like CA is useless unless if it were for MFE or FM.

C -> Mahler
MLC -> SoA

While the SOA problems are very helpful for MLC. I and other posters have found some utility in the Adapt subscription. I highly recommend going through the WA questions by section from CA. It is 100 WA questions. This helps build some mastery around all the material. Then you can move into the past exams and sample MC and WA.

I found CA helpful as well. I had extra WA questions and just personally, it really helped me with the timing of sections (ie. I got MC down to 1.5 hours for all the questions). I think I may have gotten it for maybe too long (a month) and I think two weeks would have been enough but oh well.

Any idea when the solutions come out? I'm kind of curious what comments the SOA had about this sitting.

Percentages are out for this exam.

http://cdn-files.soa.org/web/Webwork...543.1495806728

That percent passing is a massive jump! I'm pretty surprised by it. Also the MC bar was raised back up to 12 questions. No surprise there.
