Does anyone have any recommendations for getting back into a study groove? I obviously didn't pass Spring 2017, but I don't believe it was for lack of subject comprehension - I admit I didn't allocate enough time for practice WA. Is it too early to just start chugging through practice tests (both MC and WA)?

I would be curious to know what are some good strategies, especially from those who are second-time (or beyond) sitters, to get the wind back in your sails?

I am right in the same boat. Trying to prepare, mentally, to get back into the saddle after failing in the spring. I used ADAPT last time, which REALLY helped my ability to knock out the M.C. questions in under two hours. I worked previously released exams for practice on the W.A. component. However, I obviously did not do as well as I had thought on the WA's. I am going to review the ADAPT WA's, SOA WA's, and all of the released WA's after reading through some of the later lessons in the ASM manual. I feel like my understanding of Reversionary Bonuses, Universal life, and joint-lives insurances was not on par with what the SOA expects of potential candidates.

I am going to finish the Interim Assessment over the next two weeks and get back in the groove. I got this this time.

Start with the SOA 322. That got me thinking again.

I'm starting to begin really studying MLC now and am going to write it in the fall. I emailed Coaching Actuaries regarding my situation and their MLC formula sheet.

Good news: They gave me formula sheet.
Bad news: I got nauseous once I saw it.

I would hold off on the practice exams until the last month. build a schedule that will let you take them all. Start doing all the practice problems you can. SOA 322 is a very good start to see what you need to refresh on.

I'm surprised you're unaware of this, though you may have heard it by a different name (SOA 318, SOA sample problems, etc.).

You should definitely work through these before the next exam, regardless if you've already done them. I'd also run through the 22 WA questions available before you start any practice exams.
