The Vice President & Actuary is a client facing role within Retirement Plan Strategies (RPS) - a large and rapidly growing business within Prudential Retirement that focuses on delivering actuarial, investment and regulatory consulting solutions to retirement plan sponsors. This individual will be a lead actuary, provide consulting services to a range of clients as part of an integrated team of retirement plan professionals.
Position Responsibilities
Develop/Manage a book of business made up of Prudential Retirement's larger clients for the delivery of actuarial and fiduciary risk management services.
Support RPS management team initiatives to develop RPS into a market leading organization.
Act as a lead subject matter expert on retirement fiduciary issues in driving product development.
Play a key role in the development of RPS' long term strategy.
Partner with Investment Strategy and Regulatory Consulting colleagues to enhance the value of their services leveraging actuarial consulting experience.
Act as a senior actuarial advisor on the division's selling teams for the largest, most prestigious prospective clients.
Represent Prudential Retirement in the public forum through speaking engagements, published articles and participation in professional organizations.
Achieve retention, business development, and revenue goals for assigned book of business.
Support selected sales opportunities as key selling team member. Manage specific actuarial clients, as made necessary by commitments at point of sale, through the on-boarding process and establishment of service plans and revenue targets. Manage the transition of sold clients to ongoing staff.
Mentoring and development of professional staff.

Extensive knowledge of consulting best practices for retirement plans
Accomplished consultant on retirement plan financial management, including asset/liability matching programs and techniques, liability driven investments, and DB plan exit strategies. CFA charter holder a plus
Excellent relationship management skills and demonstrated success working with clients, internal partners, and management
Seasoned FSA and EA with 10+ years successfully managing large market client relationships at the highest level with a deep understanding of the key success factors.
Excellent project management and presentation skills
Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt quickly to change, demonstrating flexibility in response to new or unanticipated developments
Client-focused, with an external and future orientation
Proven ability to energize and motivate all levels of the organization
Decisive team leader who acts with integrity and a strong focus on results
