How would this be inferior to previously mentioned $2000 monitor aside from the 144 vs 120hz refresh rate?
Latency AKA input lag. The monitor will most likely have lower input lag than the tv. You can look this up for most products, most monitors provide this spec, some tv's don't. In my experience a product that doesn't provide this information has high input lag.

this. gotta make sure your TV is in game mode if gaming.

also, to a lesser extent chroma 4:4:4, but I think most newer tvs support it

From personal experience and from professional gamers.

Professional gamers tend to lower graphic settings to reduce lag, I really doubt any of them are playing at 4K, though somebody could prove me wrong pretty easily if that were the case. IMHO 4K @ 144Hz is way too expensive for the benefits you reap.

No idea about resolution, only talking 144hz vs. 120hz ignoring resolution.

progamers are hit or miss on debates like this since they are often sponsored by hardware manufacturers so they have a conflict of interest, I remember back in the Starcraft 2 days when some of them were touting the gunnar glasses trash.

On topic, I have been playing destiny lately and I'm only able to get 100 fps on my card as opposed to 144fps that I get on Rocket league. The difference doesn't seem all that jarring if even noticeable. The human eye is only capable of detecting so many frames per second differences, 30 to 60 is super noticeable 60 to 120 pretty noticeable, I would think 120 to 144 wouldn't be noticeable to the eye and may just be noticeable as a "feel" if at all.

Aight, definitely getting a monitor this season. If anybody sees any good deals on 1080p 1ms 144Hz 23-27 in monitors, feel free to bump here or PM me. Note, I'm talking 200-300 price range, hopefully lower with a good deal.

I think you'll find a good 27" that fits your needs. My 24" BenQ was $250 amazon prime full price, and the 1440p 27" a few days ago was $300 on sale. I might be convinced to get another too, not sure. I might want to look into one of those dual monitor arm supports

Me and Wifeisapoissonprocess are moving here in a few weeks and leaving behind our TVs as per negotiated. Looking for 4 new TVs, probably 2x55" and 2x65+".
