I'm sure nowadays there would be plenty of ppl with their DS Lites willing to play pickup games of Mario Kart or something

Portable gaming does have a fairly limited audience though...no FPS's, usually no RPGs, sports games are awful. DS is good cuz of it's niche-y fun touch screen games.

A lot of these people camp out just to resell it. They're going for about $2k on ebay right now. They're making more per hour just sitting there than I do at my job.

Sony just cut the US shipment in half so there will only be about 200k units here at launch.

Someone mentioned CompUSA. To get a PS3 there, you have to purchase a 40" (or bigger) Sony TV as well. You can only get it in a bundle at Walmart, too. I think you have to buy a controller and 12! games.

Nintendo has had lots of decent RPGs on their handhelds. Maybe not on the PSP though, I'm not sure about it...

Luckily, I have FFXII to keep me occupied. Of course, these are the type of people that have probably already beaten it

someone mentioned the reselling reason for camping out, so the camping is business to them. I can also see a good reason for camping being to ensure they have a until for their kid (or other) in time for Christmas. I, myself, would never camp out to buy a PS3. I arrived at CC last Black Friday at 4am to get a laptop last year b/c i needed one. I was 2 hours early and not nearly early enough to get 1. I left, drove by the BB and they were even worse. I ended up waiting at Staples which opened an hour later than the other 2, was 2nd in line and got a good deal.

I may do something of the sort again this year for a flat panel tv if i can find a good deal on one.

Lots of people think of that, plus, those stores get like 3 units each.

What makes you think it's a matter of learning how to do it properly?
