I checked my answers and I got a 22. It sounds like some people were talking about appealing some questions, so we'll see. I at least have hope of passing, otherwise I'm sure I'll get a 5. It gives me hope to hear you say you thought this was harder than May.

This was my first time to take 3, but by using the May '01 exam for practice I thought this one was easier. Maybe it is because I went for 4 first and 3 is way more conceptual, or maybe because the seminar I went to rocked.

According to the answers posted by the SOA, it looks like I got 29 right.

It is kind of stressful that the answers are published two days right after the actual exam. But, it's good because waiting and guessing for two months is not too fun.

I spent whole evening solving the November exam again, and if the current answers stand, I have at least 24 questions right and there are other three questions I don't remember what I answered. Hopefully this is
enough to make it happen.

I always think the latest exam seems tougher. I think memory fades over time, making prior exams seem easier. I can't remember all my answers but got at least 21.

I thought May 01 pass mark was 22. I didn't do well, got fifteen right and a score of 2, which gives a range of 22-25.

Man, am I glad I didn't have to take that one. Seemed like lots of time consuming problems.

I don't think that was an illusion. I think it was tougher than in the past.

I thought this exam was marginally more difficult than the May 01. I would order the exams as follows: May 00, Nov00, Nov01, May 01
So, I hope the number needed to pass will be one or two lower than last.

Regarding this faulty question issue, from what I read here I don't think any problem was technically faulty. However, I speculate that when grading the exam if there is a question that just about everyone (greater than 99%) got wrong, then the Society would carefully study this problem with the intent of replicating it in the future.

I disagree with your "Exam" ranking. I would rank them like this:

May '01
May '00
Nov '01
Nov '00

with May '01 being the easiest. You're crazy for not thinking that Nov '00 was the hardest exam.

Any thoughts/disagreements?

I agree with you TP. I also do not think there are any faulty questions. Which one is up for discussion?

No More 3: I also tried to take 4 before 3. What were we thinking?

I believe the Nov exam was easier than the May '01 Exam. I studied much harder for this exam. I reworked the exam last night, and I got at least 28 correct. Based on everyone's response here, it appears that I will be sitting for course 4 in May 2002.
