This is truly fantastic news!!!! I couldn't be happier. I will always vote for a petition candidate over an endorsed candidate, and now I have a petition candidate to vote for!!!

Come on, Bruce. You're not primarily voting for him because of his qualifications? Jim didn't just work hard to get on the ballot, he worked hard his entire career.

I know Jim very well and served with him on the SOA Board for a number of years (5, maybe?). He and I are friends. He is eminently qualified to be SOA president. But sending a message to the powers that be is also critically important at this time, when the SOA is embarked on several different roads to ruin. So...I will be voting for Jim for at least two reasons, unless Tom gets on the ballot, too, in which case I have to choose between them. That will be a tough choice!

Good Luck Jim. It looks like I will be voting for you also as my count was 172 yesterday. That just shows that this Petition Process needs one to invest a lot of time to do something that should be fairly simple.

What the SoA is doing is, essentially, preying on low-information SoA voters. Nothing wrong with that - we've got jobs and families and count on our professional organization to be looking over our backs - and not taking advantage of that ignorance. I am sure Jim got the petition votes through a lot of hard work and devotion. He will do that for the SoA as well.

I have known Jim for over 40 years and of the candidates you will be allowed to vote for he is the best chance for the SoA to recover and really start serving the interests of its members again. I would do that too but next year provides another opportunity which I will, I hope, have enough time to address properly.

So, elect Jim this year for two reasons:

1. He is the best candidate,
2. He won't be a petition candidate next year .

From Aspen Colorado ...
