They just fell out FIFA's top 10 rankings, for the first time ever. They'll fall even lower next month, since CONMEBOL's tournement was July '11, and they did decently in it.

Would it just make every team that made the knockouts in euro 2012 the top 8 if it only looks back 1 year? But in general, Brazil seems to lack the #9 types they used to thrive on.

It's a big part of it, because in 12 months Mexico and the US will shoot up the rankings with the Gold Cup 2015 happening, and Euro teams will fall because of the Euro getting downgraded, and everyone will say how dumb it is, just like Brazil getting downgraded is dumb now. Brazil is going to crash over the next couple of years, because they have no WCQ either.
