Right now I'm going old school and just using Microsoft Backup to back up my entire hard drive. I never had much faith in it, though. (I've had a tough time figuring out exactly what it's backing up, and how many versions of files it keeps). I don't have all that much important stuff, but I still like to be proactive.

Sounds like this Dropbox business is worth checking out.

It's ideal for backup and versioning of "document" type files or spreadsheets. I like to think of it as a cloud-based thumb drive.

It's not meant for large scale backup, but it's a god-send if you ever need to restore files or work on multiple computers. It also ensures that you'll never lose documents in the event of HD failure.

I also recently recommended it to someone starting a small business because it let them create their own little virtual network for free by sharing folders.

One of my "business" uses:

I create TIA lessons on my Mac, and save them as PDF in Dropbox. When I'm ready to record videos using my tablet PC, the PDF are always immediately ready on the PC without me having to copy them there. Even if I need to edit them on the Mac, they sync instantly. There is no waiting whatsoever.

Just received a terse reply.

I've asked them if they plan to add the functionality for Firefox in the future, and also mentioned that 1Pasword can handle this without a problem.

Are you able to use Chrome?

Also, E, 1Password works in Firefox on the soft keyboard?

I can, I just hate to abandon Firefox and all my add-ons and stuff. But it wouldn't be the end of the world to switch.

I'm a little baffled as to why their software can work in Chrome but not Firefox, though.

I can confirm that it works in Chrome, FF, and Safari. I'm on a Mac, though. In my experience, 1Password works the same in all browsers on a Mac.

I have no idea how 1Password works in Windows on the virtual keypad.

Agree that's odd. Do they have forums where you could raise that question -- or search to see if others have the same issue in FF?

They do, but it looks like ahow already beat me to the punch--I see a post on their forum already from ahow628.
