Actually, I don't think it named any mods. It listed some people who have limited mod powers in those sections. E.g., JMO can move posts out of "General" if they clearly belong in Careers or some other place.

Mod8's post was intended as a reminder, not a change of policy or enforcement. As to enforcement, if someone posts id1 = id2, we will delete it if id1 or id2 complains. We may delete it if some other id complains. We may delete it if no one complains, and are much more likely to if id1 or id2 has complained before. We may issue infraction points or warnings. Cops don't issue speeding tickets every time they see someone exceeding the speed limit.

This sidesteps my question slightly.

All other things being equal (most importantly, the level of interest Posters X or Y express in other posters' speculation about their alts), should we expect that the treatment of cases (like case X or case Y) might vary according to criteria unknown to the posters being speculated about?

Yes, if it's only for a week.

I'd like to be banned at specific hours of the workday, M-F, but it's not feasible.

Once you have been banned for a week, you are part of a special subculture and have some troll-cred, or windmill-tilting cred, or something.

It's like a brotherhood of short-order cooks. I forgot to mention that.
