Prestige 20 and working on chapter IV of the season and just started on T1. Need to figure out how to ramp up this difficulty to T4 so I can net that free set.

4/6 pieces of the free set w/ bonus helped me get to T3, now the challenge will be to figure out how to farm for better legendary (primal/ancient?) or fill out another 2 piece set for another bonus even once I get the other 2/6 for the free one. Safe to say this is the farthest into endgame I've ever ventured, pretty fun.

3.1. Start extracting all the legendarys into the cube that I can
4. Start rifting for stones then grifting for levels/items
5. Once you have all the items you need, start fine tuning via rerolls
6. Grift for gem levels
7. Season Journey
Or maybe back to this handy guide, I'm sitting at 3.1/4. I did end up getting my first 2 legendary gems, the greed one and another with elite kill bonus. Still not seeing quite the benefit out of them yet but I'm swimming in gold.

That's probably the only class I never went deep in a season with, so I can't really give you much advice with that.

What I will say is that the first gem you get (the one that gives a damage boost to elites) is good to start off with. One of the other gems that's been common among all the other classes I've used is the green one that gives you a damage boost to nearby CC'd targets.

I'd imagine the yellow one with a stacking damage boost for each attack works well for monk too.

Yeah, bane of the trapped and bane of the stricken are pretty much a go-to for free sets.

Icy Veins has gem discussion towards the bottom.

Got distracted by legendary potions, didn't realize that was even a thing but it's unclear if they even still exist?

Can't wait to find one then, don't think I've seen one drop yet.
