Why is my favourite spot not on the list? While I am sure Boca Grande Taqueria in Boston (both locations) is adorable, there aren't enough poll spots.

What if I don't like this type of food or drink? Maybe not the thread for you. But I'm sure you will complain anyway.

I don't think that one place is consistent with the others: That's not a question. And I don't care.

What's the worst city for food in America? Columbus, OH.

I haven't heard of one of those! What should I do?? Uninstall the internet.

What if I have a local place that is better than any of these? That's great! Tell us about it. But you aren't special. We all have great local spots.

What if I can cook better than any of those places? Neat. But you probably can't you just think you are edgy because you poached an egg one time.

Love the Brazillian Steakhouses for the rare treat.

As for all the other "generic" steakhouses, they're all the same to me. They're ok, and I'll gladly go if invited, but none of them are places I ever have a desire to go to.

Anyway there are some missing chains probably. Ran out of options. Sullivan's comes to mind.

I have never had a bad experience at Capital Grille. The wait staff know the wine list very well too.

Usually get a dozen oysters to start
Steak rare - filet or ribeye.
Lobster mac / mashed potatoes
Cheesecake

Longhorn sucked

Texas Roadhouse is in there twice. FYI. Funemployed beat me to the punch.

Favorite? I'm not sure if that's which one I like the most, or which one I frequent the most.

I actually like the roadhouse, and they have ribs, so our son likes it. So we wind up there a fair amount. I'm also a fan of Saltgrass, but the one closest to us isn't terribly close, so we don't go often.

And we also like the Brazilian places. But cheap actuary, so we don't go all that often.

Honestly, 80% of the steak we eat, I cook at home. We got a sous vide thing, and then I sear over charcoal or in a cast iron pan if I'm feeling lazy. Add some roasted veggies and a salad usually, and I'm good to go.

Also, why go out for steak when you have hamburger at home?

I have been told by multiple people they don't understand why I would ever go out for steak because the steak I cook at home is better than anything you can get out. That being said, sometimes I don't want to have to cook it for myself. However, none of them really overwhelm me enough to pick one. Much better chance that they have routinely overcooked my steak or have had some bad experiences than anything overly good.

Bigger Chain - Capital Grille

Smaller Chain - Strip House (absolute favorite)
