SUPERFORECASTING
MAY 2, 2017
12:00 - 1:30 ET

SESSION DESCRIPTION
The popular book "Superforecasting" describes people who produce unusually accurate forecasts of future event probabilities, the methods they use, and the science of forecasting evaluation. This webinar will continue the discussion of these ideas from the 2016 CAS Annual meeting session on the book. This webinar will provide an overview of the ideas from the book, look at actuarial and business applications, and discuss the CAS Superforecasting Working Party. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.

This session may provide attendees with 1.8 CE hour.
I am one of the presenters.

This is the book:

Why does the CAS schedule webinars during exam week? Silly society.

Fortunately, things change once you finish exams. The primary focus of the CAS webinars is continuing education. Students taking exams have a primary focus of passing the &#*#$&#( exams.

The first review on Amazon is less than glowing. I am interested in forecasting techniques, but the review is clear that the book doesn't really cover that. So, should I buy it?

They are being very accommodating to those who just finished FSA exams though.
