SSD is not for mass storage. Small drive for OS/programs makes a dramatic difference in performance.

The most performance intense program I run is Excel. Which can actually run pretty slowly. But then it would be the company buying it, not me.

It's not about running intensive programs. You'll notice a significant improvement in day-to-day computing with a SSD. Almost everything you do is quicker

I keep reading about OCZ drives failing a lot. There's a reason why they're cheaper than the rest.

YES - it really is fast.

I just did a timing test. It took 50 seconds from the time I clicked on restart Windows to reload Firefox and post this response.

I updated my system backup today, and then used the Linux boot CD to update the firmware for the SSD. I'll report back if I have another system crash ...
