i don't know if that's true - he might have been up against more competition in the big cities.

of course, casting a wider net geographically helps rather than limiting yourself to certain areas of the country.

Anyway, this doesn't matter for me anymore anyway, but I will say - I will not risk sending a resume far away from my hometown again. You know very well that I ended up in a job that was superbly subpar (if you've forgotten, think insurance and paying back benefits), and I dare NOT risk that again for any actuarial company again.

at my company it's the norm for a lot of people just not my specific area of the company.

looking both internally and externally atm though.
