My parents didn't pay a dime of my school because they couldn't afford to save for me so I took out loans and I came out of school with $40k+ in debt. Now it's over 12 years since I graduated and I'm still paying those loans while saving for my daughters because I'm going to do as much as I can to not put them in the same spot as me. Will I pay for 100% of their school? Probably not but I'll pay a good portion of it b

What's the obsession with working less that 40/week? I'd love to be introduced to a VP, SVP or chief actuary at a company that works less than 50 per week.

The people obsessing about working less than 40h/week probably are not in management roles, and thus believe that they shouldn't be working as many hours as the VPs in their company.

You know that kid who graduated from Med school but you can't get jealous of them because they didn't have to worry about debt so you couldn't go all schaudenfraude on them and tell them "lol doctors have debt"?

Yeah, that's gonna be my kid. Actually probably not, even actuary salaries can't afford that kind of tuition. I only plan on covering undergrad. Probably wouldn't recommend my kid to become a doctor either unless they love hospitals and like being on call.

Most SVPs here don't really work more than 40 hours a week, at least in my office. But SVP isn't really a high title here. It's kind of all over the place. There are some SVPs who head up business units and for sure they work more than 40 hours a week. The ones who are directly below the CA though, no.
