Default Percent of exams failed (poll)

I saw a recent post on AO about how many fails people had to get to FSA/FCAS, and I was curious but thought it would be better in poll form than jut people responding to the thread.

I've used percentages so people at all stages can answer.

Percentage of exams, or of attempts? If you failed exactly once, every exam, is that a 100% fail rate, or 50%?

The poll says attempts, the thread says exams. 90% seems high for attempts.

Anyway, I'll assume attempts.

I did mean attempts, thanks for pointing that out. 90% is definitely high for attempts, but I failed the first exam I ever took so at one point my fail rate was 100%.

You wouldn't be an FSA with a 100% failure rate.

I picked an arbitrarily high bracket because I thought that's where I would be and then did the math.

This is why my fail rate was 59%.

Tough to answer. Do IA and FA count as exam attempts? Modules in general? VEE? Or just strictly exams?

Not quite FCAS yet, but 2/9. Probably about to be 3/10.

(Just exams, not OCs, etc.)

Going off exams only, I got my FSA with a final fail rate of 59.09090909%. Before the very last exam, I was at just under 53%. The last exam was just so enjoyable, I wanted to take it five times.

I've failed 4 of 11 attempts on true actuarial exams (no OCs, VEEs), so 64% success rate or 36% fail rate...
